Fauci’s Deadly Deception: How Remdesivir Was Pushed as a COVID “Miracle” Despite Its Lethal Track Record in Ebola Trials

In the shadow of a global pandemic that claimed millions of lives, one man’s decisions stand out as a chilling emblem of institutional betrayal: Dr. Anthony Fauci.
As director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Fauci wasn’t just a bystander — he was the architect of a system that funnelled taxpayer dollars into deadly experiments, buried their failures, and resurrected them for profit.

Remdesivir, the antiviral drug from Gilead Sciences that Fauci hailed as a COVID-19 breakthrough, exemplifies this corruption. He knew it had killed over half of Ebola patients in trials he funded, yet he presented it to the world as safe and effective — in collusion with Big Pharma, the FDA, NIH, and WHO.
This was not science; it was a calculated scheme that prioritized billions in profits over human lives.

Funding the Failure: Fauci’s Direct Role in Remdesivir’s Lethal Origins

Fauci’s fingerprints are all over remdesivir’s dark history. As NIAID head, he oversaw and funded the 2019 PALM trial in the Democratic Republic of Congo, testing remdesivir against other Ebola drugs, including ZMapp, mAb114, and REGN-EB3.

U.S. taxpayers footed the bill — approximately $70 million — to kickstart Gilead’s partnership with NIAID, the CDC, and the U.S. Army for remdesivir’s development, initially intended for Ebola.

The results were catastrophic:

  • 53.1% of remdesivir patients died (93 of 175), exceeding Ebola’s typical 50% fatality rate without treatment.
  • An independent safety board halted the trial midway, deeming remdesivir inferior. Competing drugs mAb114 and REGN-EB3 performed far better, with mortality rates of 35% and 33% respectively.

Fauci himself announced these results in August 2019, acknowledging remdesivir’s failure — yet later disregarded this data. He was aware the drug caused acute kidney failure and organ damage, conditions that would later mirror COVID-related deaths.

When the pandemic hit, Fauci resurrected remdesivir despite its deadly record. This was no oversight; it was a deliberate act of deception, intertwined with NIAID’s financial ties to Gilead. During this period, Gilead’s lobbying surged, political donations flowed, and profits skyrocketed — all red flags of systemic collusion.

The Big Lie: From Ebola Killer to COVID “Saviour”

By April 2020, Fauci was publicly touting remdesivir’s “clear-cut, significant, positive effect” based on the NIAID-funded ACTT-1 trial.
That trial, however, only showed a minor reduction in recovery time — from 15 to 11 days — and no significant decrease in mortality.

Fauci falsely claimed the drug was “proven safe and effective” for both Ebola and COVID, ignoring the fatal outcomes of the earlier trial.
Under his oversight, the NIH mandated remdesivir as the sole hospital treatment on May 1, 2020 — labelling it “experimental” but safe, despite the evidence to the contrary.

He also changed trial endpoints mid-study (from mortality to recovery time), a move that drew criticism from international experts. Meanwhile, conflicting studies — such as those from China showing no benefit — were downplayed or ignored. Safer and cheaper alternatives like hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin were vilified, while remdesivir was fast-tracked with minimal scrutiny.

The results were predictable: Gilead’s stock soared, generating $5.7 billion in 2021.

The Collusion Web: Pharma, FDA, NIH, WHO, and Fauci’s Empire

Fauci did not act alone. Gilead’s lobbying expenditures rose sharply during COVID-19, coinciding with NIAID’s trials. The FDA granted Emergency Use Authorization for remdesivir just one day after Fauci’s public announcement, despite the drug’s known toxicity.

Hospitals received financial incentives for administering remdesivir, aligning profits with patient deaths. The World Health Organization initially endorsed the drug despite contradictory data, only reversing its stance in 2022 after new evidence surfaced.

The broader system enabled this:

  • Pharmaceutical companies fund approximately 75% of the FDA’s budget, ensuring conflicts of interest remain unchecked.
  • Critics like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. call this “agency capture on steroids,” with Fauci serving as both policymaker and Pharma beneficiary.

Deception: The deception deepened in hospitals, where the drug’s toxic reputation sparked patient refusals. As word spread—fueled by Ardis’s “Run Death Is Near” campaign—administrators panicked. Pharmacists and nurses reported clandestine meetings across U.S. facilities, where executives gathered doctors, staff, and suppliers in secret sessions to rename remdesivir as Veklury, its innocuous brand name. No longer the infamous “remdesivir,” it became a bland acronym, slipping past wary patients and families demanding alternatives. These hushed briefings, described as “emergency huddles” in whistleblower accounts, weren’t about transparency—they were damage control to keep the protocol flowing and bonuses intact. One pharmacist recounted to Ardis how administrators decreed: “Call it Veklury from now on—no one says no to that.” It was a sleight of hand, straight from the Pharma playbook, ensuring the lethal drip continued unchecked.

The Human Toll: A Genocide of Greed

Over one million U.S. deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 — but many were tied to remdesivir’s known side effects, including kidney failure and organ collapse.
Families were silenced, whistleblowers threatened, and affordable alternatives suppressed. To critics, this wasn’t a pandemic response — it was a profit-driven depopulation campaign masked as medical policy.

Breaking the Chains: Demand Unbiased Research Now

Fauci funded the failure, lied about the fix, and profited from the fallout. The FDA, WHO, and NIH — institutions meant to protect the public — instead enabled the deception.
Now, accountability is overdue.

We need:

  • Independent investigations into NIAID’s funding and Gilead’s lobbying.
  • Transparency in all pharmaceutical trials.
  • Criminal accountability for those who prioritized profit over life.

True science demands integrity — not manipulation.
The truth isn’t just owed — it’s demanded.
